- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 2 scallions, sliced (divided)
- 1 tbsp reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 13 green cabbage leaves
- Extra-virgin olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine ground beef, minced garlic, grated ginger, cilantro, one sliced scallion, soy sauce, sesame oil, and the lightly beaten egg; mix until well combined.
- Boil salted water in a large pot and cook cabbage leaves for about 1 minute until tender. Drain on paper towels.
- Cut each cabbage leaf in half lengthwise and remove the core. Place about 1 tablespoon of filling at one end of each leaf and roll tightly.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook dumplings seam side down until golden brown (about 2 minutes).
- Add water to the skillet and cover to steam the dumplings until cooked through (approximately 10 minutes).
- Combine remaining scallion with soy sauce and sesame oil to make the dipping sauce.
- Serve warm with the dipping sauce.
