  • 2 sheets thawed puff pastry

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 1 large egg (lightly beaten with 1 teaspoon water)
  • 23 tablespoons sugar for topping (optional)
  • ¼ cup strawberry jam (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 23 tablespoons milk (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sliced strawberries with sugar and cornstarch; let sit for 15 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, mix cream cheese until smooth; add powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
  4. Cut puff pastry into rectangles and score borders; fill each with cream cheese and layer strawberries on top.
