  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup (for glaze)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for consistency)
  • Optional: a sprinkle of cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream softened butter with brown sugar until fluffy. Add maple syrup, egg, and vanilla; mix until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually combine with wet ingredients on low speed.
  4. Scoop dough into 1 1/2-inch balls and place on prepared sheets; flatten slightly.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft. Cool on sheets before transferring to a wire rack.
  6. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar and maple syrup with milk for desired consistency. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
