  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 (15-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 8 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley, chopped
  • Extra Parmesan cheese for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef or turkey and brown until cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add diced onion; sauté until translucent (about 3-4 minutes). Stir in minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  3. Mix in Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, marinara sauce, chicken broth, and crushed tomatoes; bring to a gentle boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 15–20 minutes.
  5. Stir in broken lasagna noodles; cook until tender (10–12 minutes), adding broth if needed.
