- 1 pound fresh salmon
- Salt & pepper (to taste)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated)
- 2 tablespoons chicken broth
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons butter (divided)
Instructions
- Remove salmon from the fridge and let it rest for 15-20 minutes. Cut into four pieces and pat dry. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a bowl, combine brown sugar, soy sauce, lemon juice, ginger, chicken broth, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and cornstarch; whisk until smooth.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add salmon skin-side down; cook for about 5 minutes. Flip salmon carefully and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Add remaining butter to skillet and pour the glaze around salmon; allow it to bubble for about 20 seconds before removing from heat.
- Gently flip salmon to coat with glaze and serve hot.
