Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 oz ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons shoyu soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 cup chopped Chinese cabbage
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup garlic chives
  • About 35 gyoza wrappers

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, white pepper, sesame oil, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well.
  2. Fold in the chopped cabbage, garlic, ginger, and garlic chives until evenly distributed.
  3. Place about a tablespoon of the filling in the center of each wrapper. Moisten edges with water and fold into a half-moon shape; pinch to seal.
  4. For pan-fried gyoza: Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry gyoza until golden brown on one side, then add water and cover to steam until cooked through.
  5. For steamed gyoza: Arrange in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper and steam over boiling water for about 10-12 minutes.
