- 4 pounds boneless beef butt (skinless or shoulder)
- 3–4 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 large onion (cut into wedges)
- 8 cloves garlic (smashed)
- Juice of 2 limes
- Juice of 2 large oranges (or 3/4 cup natural orange juice)
- 3/4 cup cola
- 2 bay leaves
Instructions
- Rinse and pat dry the beef to remove excess moisture.
- In a slow cooker, add the beef and season with salt, pepper, oregano, and cumin.
- Place onion wedges and smashed garlic around the meat. Pour lime juice and orange juice over everything.
- Add cola and bay leaves on top.
- Cover and cook on low for 8–10 hours or high for 5–6 hours until the meat is tender enough to shred easily.
