  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 1/2 cups hot water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spread melted butter in a 9×13 baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together milk, vanilla extract, and sugar until combined. Add flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon; mix until just combined.
  3. Spoon the batter over the melted butter without stirring. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly on top.
  4. Pour hot water gently over the mixture.
  5. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until golden brown and mostly set.
  6. Mix topping sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl; sprinkle over cobbler right after removing from the oven.
  7. Allow cooling slightly before serving.
