- 6 boneless beef chops
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cups thinly sliced potatoes
- 1 small onion thinly sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp butter
- Fresh parsley chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the boneless beef chops with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and brown the beef chops for 3-4 minutes on each side before setting them aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté the onions until soft.
- Sprinkle flour over the onions, stir for 2 minutes, then gradually whisk in milk and chicken broth until thickened.
- Stir in dried thyme, paprika, and one cup of shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
- Grease a baking dish and layer half of the sliced potatoes followed by half of the cheese sauce.
- Place browned beef chops on top of the first layer of potatoes and add remaining potatoes followed by cheese sauce.
- Top with remaining cheddar cheese and bake covered for 45 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow resting for 10 minutes before serving; garnish with fresh parsley.
