Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf challah or brioche bread (cubed, about 6 cups)
  • 1 can (15 oz) pumpkin puree
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, heavy cream, milk, eggs, brown sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and spices until smooth.
  3. Add cubed bread to the baking dish and pour the custard mixture over it. Press down gently to ensure even soaking.
  4. Let the mixture rest for 15-20 minutes to absorb the liquid.
  5. Bake for 40-50 minutes until golden brown on top and slightly jiggly in the center when shaken.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
