- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
- 3/4 cup salted butter, softened (or unsalted butter + 1/4 tsp fine salt)
- 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 egg, at room temperature
- 4 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1 1/4 cups crème fraiche (or sour cream/Greek yogurt)
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2/3 cup water
- 2 cups chopped pecans
- 20 pecan halves for decorating
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add egg and mix until smooth.
- Gradually incorporate flour; chill dough if too soft.
- Roll out dough and cut into rounds. Press into tartlet pans and prick with a fork.
- Bake for 10 minutes with pie weights, then remove weights and bake until golden.
- In a saucepan, bring brown sugar and water to a boil, then stir in maple syrup and crème fraiche.
- Fill cooled tartlet shells with chopped pecans and pour warm filling over top.
- Decorate with pecan halves and serve.
