Description

Elevate your dessert game with these delightful Pecan Tartlets! Featuring a buttery brown sugar crust and a luscious maple toffee filling, these mini treats are topped with crunchy pecans for the perfect balance of textures.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
  • 3/4 cup salted butter, softened (or unsalted butter + 1/4 tsp fine salt)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 egg, at room temperature
  • 4 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 1/4 cups crème fraiche (or sour cream/Greek yogurt)
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 20 pecan halves for decorating

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add egg and mix until smooth.
  3. Gradually incorporate flour; chill dough if too soft.
  4. Roll out dough and cut into rounds. Press into tartlet pans and prick with a fork.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes with pie weights, then remove weights and bake until golden.
  6. In a saucepan, bring brown sugar and water to a boil, then stir in maple syrup and crème fraiche.
  7. Fill cooled tartlet shells with chopped pecans and pour warm filling over top.
  8. Decorate with pecan halves and serve.
