- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
- 12 ounces tomato paste
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 large egg
- Grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper; simmer for 15 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with egg and half of the Parmesan until smooth.
- In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella cheese three times, finishing with remaining noodles and sauce topped with mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Cover with foil (sprayed) and bake for 25 minutes; uncover and bake an additional 20 minutes until bubbly.
