Ingredients

Scale
  • 95 g all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 225 g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 56 g butter
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 100 g caster sugar
  • 90 g raw sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 85 g chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 160ºC (320ºF) with a fan or 170ºC (338ºF) for conventional heating. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Melt dark chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, stirring until combined. Add vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the caster sugar, raw sugar, and eggs until light and fluffy (about 5 minutes).
  4. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Mix in chocolate chips.
  5. Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg-sugar mixture gently.
  6. Carefully fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto the prepared tray, leaving space between each. Bake for 12-14 minutes until set on top.
  8. Sprinkle with sea salt if desired and cool on the tray for about 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
