- 8 oz goat cheese log
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh thyme
- 1 qt canola oil
Instructions
- Cut the goat cheese log into 24 small pieces and roll each into a ball. Freeze for about 30 minutes.
- Prepare three bowls: one with flour, garlic powder, and salt; one with whisked egg and milk; and one with panko breadcrumbs and thyme.
- Dredge each cheese ball first in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg mixture, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs.
- Freeze the coated balls again for another 30 minutes.
- Heat the oil in a heavy-bottomed pot to 350℉. Fry the balls in batches until golden brown (about 30 seconds to 1 minute). Drain on a wire rack.
