- 2 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp dried thyme
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 2 1/2 tsp coarse salt
- 1 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (to taste)
- 4 skin-on salmon fillets (6–8 oz each)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1–2 tbsp canola oil
- Lime wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, dried oregano, coarse salt, black pepper, brown sugar, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry and coat generously with the seasoning mixture on both sides.
- Heat canola oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; add butter once hot.
- Place seasoned salmon skin-side down in the skillet. Cook for about 5 minutes until browned; flip and cook for another 5 minutes until cooked through.
- Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
