Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs firm white fish (like tilapia or cod)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ lime (juiced)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 chipotle pepper in adobo sauce (chopped)
  • ½ cup cilantro (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • Corn tortillas (warmed)
  • Shredded purple cabbage
  • Fresh cilantro (lightly chopped)
  • Lime wedges

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, garlic salt, chopped chipotle pepper, and cilantro to create the chipotle-lime sauce. Set aside.
  2. Combine all spices in another bowl to make the blackened seasoning.
  3. Pat fish fillets dry and brush both sides with melted butter; sprinkle generously with blackened seasoning.
  4. Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook seasoned fish fillets for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Warm corn tortillas in a separate skillet and assemble tacos by placing blackened fish in tortillas topped with cabbage and drizzle with chipotle-lime sauce.
