  • 3/4 cup softened butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 12 tbsp apple cider for glaze
  • pinch cinnamon for glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients alternately with apple cider.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for about 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to a cooling rack.
  8. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with apple cider and cinnamon until smooth; drizzle over cooled cake.
