  • ⅛ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup Salted Caramel Sauce
  • 1 ½ cups unsalted butter (softened)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 3 cups confectioners sugar
  • ¾ cup Salted Caramel Sauce
  • 1 cup walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet batter alternating with fresh apple cider until just mixed.
  5. Divide batter between prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. For filling: Sauté sliced apples in butter with cinnamon until tender.
